    KT Sullivan Returns to Birdland
“I Can Cook: When Barbara Met Wally”
    February 27 – March 2 at 7pm
Birdland TheaterBirdland Theater is proud to announce that singer KT Sullivan will perform four very special shows February 27 – March 2 at 7pm.Barbara Cook’s career was resurrected through a relationship with Wally Harper, who introduced her to the world of cabaret, which opened an amazing second act in what had been a luminous career as an actress and vocalist. A Broadway legend, Ms. Cook found her musical equal in Harper, and he found his muse in her. Then in 1980, a chance introduction to Barbara’s album “It’s Better With A Band” started KT Sullivan, a starry-eyed Oklahoma native on the way to a career in cabaret. In “I Can Cook,” KT pays tribute to both Barbara and Wally, and the amazing journey that began when they met. Featuring “Sing A Song With Me” and “It’s Better With A Band” (both written by Harper) as well as classics arranged by Wally for Barbara such as “Dancing In The Dark,” “Wait Till You See Him,” “Sweet Georgia Brown,” “I Love A Piano,” “Come In From The Rain,” “If Love Were All,” and “I Can Cook.” Eric Michael Gillett directs, and Jon Weber musical directs.

We begin at 7:30, take a 15-minute break around 9pm and end at 10:30. We do not present performers in order of sign-up, however, indicating requests as clearly and as early as possible as far as time restraints are concerned always makes everything much more possible.  ALWAYS BRING SEVERAL SONG SELECTIONS to avoid duplication. All types of material, on or off theme are always welcome at Salon. We enthusiastically welcome instrumentalists, poets, playwrights, essayists, comics, illusionists and performance artists. Please limit your selections to three or four minutes in length (including patter). Please also bring clear, complete charts for Mark to read. Flash photography is not allowed. Please turn off all noise making devices and give performers your undivided attention.

The Birdland Theater is happy to announce that singer Jenna Esposito will bring “The Sixties Chicks” to the stage on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 7pm.
In this brand-new show, vocalist Jenna Esposito takes the audience on a rollicking romp through some of the biggest hits of the 1960’s, all made popular by female vocalists. From “girl group” songs by the Crystals (“And Then He Kissed Me”) and the Chiffons (“One Fine Day”), to the hits of Dusty Springfield (“You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me”), Lesley Gore (“It’s My Party”), and Connie Francis (“Where The Boys Are”), this show will have audiences singing, bopping, and “Dancing In The Streets!” For this show, Jenna will be backed by her four-piece band, led by musical director, Fortune Esposito on guitar, as well as Kelly Esposito-Broelmann and Rob Langeder on background vocals.

The Dinner portion ($49 plus tax, gratuity and the additional cost of beverages) is charged on the evening of the performance by the Café staff. Guests must attend both the Dinner and the Performance and are responsible for the total combined ticket cost of $99. Acclaimed international singer and impressionist, Christina Bianco will give you your musical requests in two minutes or less! Audience members will ‘order-up’ songs from a musical menu that Christina and music director Brian Nash will spontaneously perform ‘on demand.’ Anything from 80’s-pop anthems, to weepy musical theatre ballads, to cartoon theme songs – The Decision Is Yours.
The evening will also feature some of Christina’s signature ‘Unlikely Interpretations’, pairing a singer with an unexpected song. Ever want to hear Julie Andrews sing Aerosmith? This is the show for you! With Christina’s versatile vocals and rapid-fire impressions paired with Brian’s encyclopedic musical knowledge, you can expect an off-the-cuff musical comedy experience like non other – and never to be repeated!
Something akin to a one woman orchestra

Must we trot out the phrase, Tour De Force? Yes we must.

Bianco may be known for her impressions, but what audiences will take away from her shows are her humor, charm, and incredibly powerful voice rivaling the very divas she impersonates.
